Fifty years ago, the Magical world was torn asunder when Harry Potter, a sixteen year old boy with a phenomenal task, took on his self-acclaimed nemesis, Lord Voldemort. In true fashion, good triumphed over evil when all odds were against it. How? Why? No-one really knows, even now, but there are some things that are better left as mysteries.
However, although Voldemort was gone, many of his followers were not, and they were outraged at the loss of their master. The Ministry of Magic was destroyed from the inside, and no-one could trust anyone any more. Witches and wizards no longer stopped to chat in the streets, and they drew their wands on anyone and everyone. Twenty years after the downfall of Lord Voldemort, the Magical world was under threat of something much greater in force and determination. The Muggles. Sure that magic was the source of all negativity, they tried again and again to abolish the Magical world, but there was one thing that they hadn't banked on, the one thing that Voldemort himself had overlooked. Love. One by one, those families that had raged about the wizards found themselves loving one.
Thirty years on, the Magical and Muggle worlds are still separate, but there is the same kind of tolerance and ignorant bliss feigned by the Muggles that had truly enveloped them half a century before. There are now more Muggleborns and Half-bloods than there are Purebloods, and anyone proclaiming to be a Pureblood was said to be lying, because even those with the most magical of bloodlines had to peter out eventually. There are only so many times that one can marry into extended family.
The question is, will the peace last? How easy will it be to cause that sort of uproar again, and who will be the one to cause it? So many secrets and lies, so much deceit, how can one be sure? All you can do is live your life, and try not to be taken in by the apparent safety and comfort of Hogwarts: A Home Away From Home.
