GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Elizabeth is very tall, obviously and powerfully built, rather intimidating at first glance, but once you get past the somber face, she's really quite pretty. Not really a knock out like some of the girls that surround her, but pretty enough. Long brunette hair that dangles towards her waist, and a broad-shouldered outreach compliment her long legs. Her eyes are large and brown, giving her a soft lamb-like look.

BIOGRAPHY:
Melanie Elizabeth was born on a bittersweet October morning to a blushing young couple by the name of Vance. Bittersweet for Grandmother Vance could not be there, she had passed ten years before, almost to the date. Passed is a muted term for what happened to Emmeline Vance. Perhaps, the correct term here, is murder. Emmeline Vance was murdered by a certain Lord Voldemort in the privacy of her own home in London. She was too important to let live, the family supposed there was some ironic honor in it, but they didn't feel like laughing. Timothy Vance was a pureblood, like his mother, but blood-traitors all the same. Elizabeth Caldwell, a sparkling young college student from America caught his eye. Eliza was a muggle, but had no problem accepting the fact that her fiance was a wizard. She was perfectly pleased that the Dark Lord was behind bars, and did not care to be troubled by him any more.
Their daughter, Elizabeth, was a happy girl. They laughed at her antics, and knew they'd be sad when they sent her to Hogwarts. Timothy and Eliza tried to keep talk of politics down when Melly was around, but she still picked up on her parent's animosity towards purebloods, Slytherins, and Death Eaters, and took it to heart. If Mum and Dad hate them, so do I.
But when Mum and Dad sent little Melly off to Hogwarts, they didn't get a little Melly back. Elizabeth preferred Elizabeth now, and no, she did not want a piggy back ride to to grocery. She was almost thirteen now, and she would not tolerate such little girl games. Her parents were mildly bewildered at her change of attitude, but then again, she had been hanging out with those Ravenclaw types. (Her father had been in Gryffindor himself).
Elizabeth managed to get on the goodside of Headmaster Rowan early on, and became quite sympathetic to his cause. She listened to her parent's rabble, and deduced they would be making the same choice as her, in her position. Slaughtering those who did her family wrong. It was all quite simple. At least, that's what she told the Headmaster. Her real reasons were that she already had her eyes set on becoming the first female Prime Minister, and to get there, she had better pick the winning side. If at a moment's notice, the side with the upper hand changes, she'd switch. Elizabeth Vance was ruthless in her journey.
In her fourth year, Elizabeth fancied she might try for the Ravenclaw quidditch team. She and her father, who was over-joyed she had gotten interested in sports, practiced for the entire summer, until she was really quite good. She made the team her fourth year, not the best chaser on the pitch, but certainly not the worst.
In Elizabeth's fifth year, she knew she would be prefect. She was buddies with old Headmaster Rowan, he had to choose her. And he did, to the shock of her parents, who had no earthly idea of how she did in school. She kept some things secret from them. Most things, actually, she had outgrown the idea that her parents supported the slaughtering of purebloods. But now, she did. Elizabeth Vance had started making decisions for herself, imagine that.

RP SAMPLE:
Abigail was humming pleasantly as she strolled through the Safeway. She wasn't shopping for the family, for once, she was looking for herself. She was also buying things that her brothers, or Langston... could not manage to digest, despite his best efforts. Mainly coffee, tea, and dark chocolate. She would have a happy weekend, locked in her room, watching old Broadway plays. Not all together bad, right? If the twins, or Langston, rather didn't manage to kill her, she would have an overall good weekend. Minus the hangover she'd had from that party... Still humming a song she believed was from Cats, she strolled into the dairy isle, looking for goat cheese and bread. She liked her Frenchish diet, and besides, her brother didn't much like the more eccentric cheeses she brought home. And they ate everything.
As the basket on her shoulder got heavier, she rounded into the pet isle. Socks would like this catnip, she decided and flung it into the bag. She absolutely adored her little cat, and absolutely adored the fact that he hated everyone but her. Anything to keep her mind off David. Langston hadn't been the same since, no pranks, no jokes, not even a smile. The twins had been more like the same being. And now David was gone. She hadn't been to see him since the funeral, but she knew that Langston visited the cemetery every day. Thank God he wasn't sixteen yet, he would have dropped out of school and gone home and hung himself, she knew.
Abigail was an actress, she wasn't showing any signs that her brother's death had affected her. Her parents had enough worry over already with Langston's fetish with his brother's grave. Langston slept on the couch, he hadn't slept in the room the two had shared since David's death. They hadn't told Langston how David died. Somehow the fact that a psycho serial killer murdering David was too disturbing to tell the fifteen year old boy. And that the murderer was innocent on grounds of insanity... They'd murdered so many...
Abigail felt the slight hint of tears on her cheeks. She'd cried so much lately. For good reason, but the tears still felt so unfamiliar on her tanned face. Her eyelids were puffy and red from tears and lack of sleep, she was a wreck. She'd had a cold for the past month, she was a snot factory. She hadn't showered in four days. Her clothes were dirty, they hadn't been washed in three days. She slept in them, she only changed when her mother made her. She knew Langston was far worse, and she collapsed onto the large bag of dog food she was buying and laid her head in her arms and sobbed.
