* WE WILL NEVER SLEEP 'COS SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK , TAGS TO EVERYONE , FINISHED , MUSIC LYRICS ARE BY HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD , TEMPLATE IS BY VIOLETTE . ooo strangers.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • After a number of strange but welcome encounters in the glorious city of Paris during his short stay for his job, Emerson was surprisingly glad to be back in the land that had been his home for so long. Usually he rarely missed the sprawling green hills of England as there were few things to tie him down there, but suddenly things seemed so much more promising. He couldn't help the smile that curled his lips at every corner when memories flittered across his empty mind, and when he had first appeared once more inside his London flat to a non existent welcome it had not taken him long to recall what up coming event would greet him.
Since a young age he had always loved the carnival, he had waited for the time of year to roll around for it to be time to ride the big wheel and the one time he was allowed to stuff as much spun sugar down his throat as he could physically manage without being sick everywhere. Throughout Hogwarts he had continued the love affair, often sneaking out in some ingenious way or another with his friends just so they could visit the glimpse of their childhood they all cherish so much in the growing world around them. However now, as an adult he had let his presence at the small fair diminish, he had been absent last year and only lasted half of the day the year before, now however, he was psyched and ready to throw himself into the childish festivities and out child everyone around him.
Now as he strolled through the gates, eyes on red alert for anything that was familiar to him, he couldn't help try his hardest to spot his childhood sweetheart and one of the reasons England didn't seem that bad so far. Pushing his way through the crowds of small children he tossed a charming grin here and there to the giggling masses that were pointing and stifling whispered words behind their hands. Even after this time he was surprised by the reaction he drew from the crowd and as he dodged a mob of fans he decided that from now on, he would be much more weary.

The Carnival, Dawson thought, shaking her head lightly towards it as she walked slowly in between people, wand stuck in her pocket so she could reach it fast if ever need be, I haven't been in here for years. It must've been at least since second year that Dawson had last attended the Autumn Carnival that all witches and wizards attended at least once. It was that year that she and an old friend had gotten into a fist fight. Dawson's father had shown up and embaressed the little girl by taking her away from the confrontation with a bloody lip and bruised knuckles. Of course she wasn't the only one with damage to her face.
After Brent had taken her from the carnival, treating her like a little girl again, Dawson had vowed to never go back. That was five years ago though, and here she was again.
Smiling softly to herself, Dawson passed some cotton candy and gave a few coins over to the person, taking the large, blue dyed fluff into her hands and ripped a little piece off, letting it melt against her tongue. The stickines of the treat wasn't too enjoyable, but for some reason it was quite addicting when you rarely ate it.
Walking past some of the rides, Dawson shuddered softly at the screams made by the kids, the sounds they made out of sheer enjoyment. Of course at a younger age she had thought the carnival was the world, but that was then, and now it was almost ridiculous at how excited some children would get. Of course coming here was going to mean dealing with the noise, and she knew that, or else she never would have come back, but wouldn't it be nice if the noise could be a little quieter? Noise, quieter, that's funny. She couldn't help but think about how contradicting the statement had been, even if she had meant it, it was silly.
Sticking another wad of the colored fluff into her mouth, Dawson continued walking around until she stood infront of the large wheel. So maybe she might want to actually go on some rides, the carnival did only come once a year, after all, and she never did go on this particular ride before because as a little girl she had been afraid of the height, and now, well, she wasn't anywhere near fearful of the thing. It was just an enemy she never overcame because she'd never come back.
Shaking her head a little bit, Dawson turned, deciding to come back to the ride later, what was the point right now when the lines were long with little and eager kids? Plus she still had her cotton candy to enjoy and hopes of running into somebody that she might know.

Why was she here again? There had to be a logical explanation for this, Genevieve thought, her normally sharp mind having kicked itself into gear as she stared at the unfamiliar surroundings. Ah, right, as her mind finished its processing, and she stopped thinking for a mere second. Because her boss had forced her here. She could hear the French woman now. Get out of zis place, young Genevieve! You have a 'hole life ahead of you! Zon't be foolish to vaste it here, dear! Certainly, her impression of Potions Masters and Mistresses had drastically changed. What happened to the mean glare that always came from her Potions Professor when she was still in school? A well-timed sigh escaping her lips as she ruffled a hand through her hair, she forced herself to look at her other hand, where cotton candy took its position in it. She winced at the memory, vaguely remembering a small boy coming along, thrusting it to her free-of-charge. After showing her wand to allow her in and indicating that she was indeed a witch, there had been endless thing that had been thrown at her. Cotton candy, clowns with charmed make-up and even fire-eaters, the last being the least convincing yet the most enrapturing. She sighed once again, looking down at the ball of pink as she continued walking along.
She really was regretting coming here. Hesitantly picking at the cotton candy in her hand, she continued walking, putting that small mass into her mouth. She made a small face at the amount of sugar in there - never did like sugar, such was she - she swallowed, determined not to make a show of being disagreeable at a place where everyone was supposed to have fun. Steadying herself as she walked along, she looked at the sights. Raising an eyebrow at the ferris wheel that they had managed to bring in, she was surprised to see something of her childhood here. Not one to admit having a fear of heights, the ferris wheel was one of those things that she could go up on without being scared of. Her dependance on Muggle technology was astounding, for someone who seemed so well-versed in the world of the Wizarding. Unconsciously, a smile tugged at the corner's of Genevieve's lips as she crossed the park, heading to stand in line behind others, waiting for her turn on the ferris wheel. It would be horribly lonely, she knew, since she was here by herself. Perhaps, if the operator was kind, she would be allowed to spend all her time on the Ferris Wheel. She could think of nothing better than that, after all. Loneliness was best avoided when there was a stunning view provided.

The carnival! Sasha thought as she made her way up to the gates, little kids were swarmed around and jumping for joy. Sasha smiled her giggly smile as she looked at all the cute kids, one thing Sasha loved in life were kids, she had wanted one ever since she was fourteen she just knew it would be better not to have one until she could afford it. Sasha was looking at all of the cute faces and all of the fashion disasters, their parents do not know how to dress them at all! Sasha shook her head finally making it to the lightly colored gates, the lights hung like Christmas lights to make things look a little more exciting. Sasha finally made it to the gate where she flashed her the wand and they opened up the gates proudly for her. They had to check wands because only people ten and older can come in on their own kids need a parent with a wand.
Sasha was finally inside this was one of the things she loved the most, ever since she was just a little girl she went to here. The one thing she loved even more than the carnival was the Quidditch world cup, because of how much she loved quidditch! Sasha went every year since she started playing it was her favorite thing to do and such an amazing activity. She loved seeing the professionals doing what they do best in the middle of the pitch watching the countries teams. She always hoped to one day play for London's quidditch team as their starting seeker. She could wish for nothing more than to do something as fantastic as that, it was the only thing she ever thought about when she was done with quidditch games.
"Gosh it is just as beautiful every year! The wonderful people, the big ferris wheel the games and the little shops! Everything is just always so perfect here!" Sasha practically yelled as soon as she got passed the gates, the first place she went was straight to the ticket booth. She skipped along actually wearing a pair of tennis shoes today with her short tennis skirt as well, barely anybody ever saw Sasha in something other than a skirt she loved wearing skirts it was just the way she loved to look. She skipped up to the tickets putting half her money on the table and buy plenty of tickets for plenty of rides. She was so childish at the carnival but she loved it, no matter what it would always bring a smile to her face. Sasha stepped out of the way and watched the huge ferris wheel twisting and turning, the lights lit up her eyes as she needed to ride that by the end of the night.

"Hmm now where should I start laying down my torment to the kids?" Argus asked himself snickering at his comment. He didn't want to see these kids laughing and having fun he would much rather see them crying and running away from this delightful little place. Argus wondered where he could start to corrupt some kids little minds, maybe he could make them into future death eaters for their parents. Argus chuckled and evil chuckle as he walked to one of the carnival games, it was darts, one of his childhood favorites, something you could use to kill but all you were doing was popping balloons. He stood over one little boys shoulder, he seemed to be maybe nine or ten, he wasn't in his first year of hogwarts yet because he couldn't sense his magic. Argus just watched as the kid throw dart after dart at the balloons and never popped a single one.
"Hey kid, you wanna know a trick that I learned to make this game exciting so you actually will pop them," The little boy looked up confused but he nodded. Argus crouched down and held the boys arm placing a dart in it, he looked at the little boy who seemed almost like he was about to cry. "Now look at the balloon, just pull your arm back and think of the balloon as somebody you don't like and never have. Do you have that person in your head?" The boy nodded again and Argus chuckled as he looked back at the balloons. "Well count to three pull your arm back then forward but don't let go, one, and do it again, two, and this last time, three, and now go much faster looking at the person and throw the dart," The boys hand went forward and the dart made direct contact with the center of the balloon shattering it everywhere. "When the balloon explodes I like to think that its the person's head exploding and everything flying out of their head," The boy gagged but then smiled at the thought of that happening to the person, he already made one kid demented how hard will it be for more?
Then something caught his eye as he ignored the boy under him, the huge lit up ferris wheel was starting. He watched at the kids screamed in fear and joy as they reached their height limit. He stepped closer and closer the line wasn't that long but maybe he could catch a ride with a lovely lady. He walked closer and someone caught his eye, she looked annoyed at the world and overly aggravated to be at a carnival. He laughed a little as he began to approach her, she wasn't all that bad for the looks either. Maybe Argus could get a girl through something as small as a carnival ride. Then he thought in his sex crazed mind, maybe he could get a little something during the ferris wheel ride as well. He chuckled finally walking up to the woman. He cut in front of a few people in line but so what he was going to get laid tonight. "Hey beautiful, I saw you from over there and you looked pretty lonely so I was wondering if you would like to join me on a round in the ferris wheel," He flashed her an award winning smile.

the carnival was really crowded, as more and more people streamed into the park with bright smiles and brighter expressions. if only Genevieve was able to display the same amount of expression. however, since her young age as a Brookes, she had long forgotten how it was like to truly smile or laugh. perhaps the emotion had been completely removed from her, but she certainly didn't have the same amount of joy the rest tended to display. was it a pity? perhaps, but she didn't think much of it.
her brow furrowed slightly as she heard a voice addressing her, and immediately she lifted her chin, raising her head to meet the other's gaze head on as a voice addressed her. by instinct, her eyes narrowed, unsure of what the other's motives were. however, she gave no smile, as he perhaps expected, and instead focused her blue-green eyes on the other. whatever the other was trying to pull, Geneveieve really wasn't in the mood to fully entertain or to snub the guy. the carnival was supposed to be relaxing, and she was under strict orders to limit her snide remarks. it means that Argus got away unscathed, though. forcing her voice to take an even tone, she murmured in reply, "if you're asking, I suppose. don't scream if you're afraid of heights, though."
she smirked at that comment, promptly turning back to face the front of the line as the queue moved on. not as long a line as there was before, she waited patiently, a surprise for her and anyone who knew her. and when her turn came to take the ride, she stepped into the empty carriage without a word, not caring if Argus actually held true to his promise or intent of joining her on it. casting a glance at him, she replied in a most disinterested tone, "are you coming?" clearly, winning smiles were nothing when it came to the context of the young Brookes. he'd have to try much harder, honestly.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

This girl was going to be harder than most to fall for Argus's charm, he smirked at her as she kept a straight face even after such a complement. He would just have to try harder for this one, at least she allowed him to sit next to her on the ferris wheel. Argus never did to good with rejections, everyone who ever rejected them had a close person to them die within a few days. He never killed them he wasn't that cruel, but he watched them cry and cry, when all they had to do was stay with him for one night. He was quite the looker as well, most girls fell for his good looks and charm as he took them home fucked them then left them there. He never took a girl once back to his place, that would be unheard of in the book of Argus, he didn't want people to know where he lived.
"Well thank you my lady, but trust me I won't be screaming, the little kids behind us might though," He let out a chuckle to let her know it was a joke, and maybe she would laugh. He watched as the ferris wheel stopped and they began unloading, one by one all the kids stepped off. There were no adults or teens on yet, that normally happened later when the kids were all off, he remembers the girl he made out with the last time he rode a ferris wheel. He smirked, maybe it will happen again tonight when the girl loosens up a bit. "I'm sorry beautiful, I forgot to formally introduce myself, my name is Argus Lucius Scott," He said sticking out his hand for her to shake.
"Yes, yes I will be right there," Argus was staring up at the top not noticing she was already sitting in the carrige. He smiled as he quickly walked over and took his seat next to the beautiful girl in front of him, this was the time he had to bond hoping to join her during her whole visit to the carnival. "Sorry, I was just staring at the beautiful sky today, but then I looked down to look at the real beauty in this world," He winked at her as he shot his half smile that the women loved. He wasn't trying his best just yet, he never really had to but maybe this girl would force him to before the night was over. He couldn't help but get over the affect she had on him, her beauty was much better than any other girl he had since Hogwarts, he just smiled notcing when he said she was beautiful he was actually meaning it.

DADDYS LITTLE GIRL` w h e n h e w e n t a w a y !- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -The Carnival. Just another excuse for all those unworthy to crawl from their pointless existence and parade around everyone else like they had the right to be there. They were disgusting in their brashness, and that she had to walk tall between them, serving out sickly sweet smiles of acceptance to all was the final kick in her stomach that was about to make this a great day. For the first hour of the festivities she had never left the side of the Minister, glued to her superior as if her life or indeed her job depended on it. Kissing children and giving out sweets was hardly her idea of fun when she would much prefer to wipe the earth of every single one of them, but she had stood, perfect as always like a shining beacon at his side.
Who would have guessed that such a polite, proper young woman would secretly be longing to slice the heart out of those around her, to stop the undeserving hearts beating their poisoned blood and their lungs from leeching from the air that was meant for those like her. To be in such a situation, surrounded on all sides, was close to hell, and there did not seem to be much relief in sight.
Now that she was free, however, released from the custody that had stifled her, she was allowed to roam the carnival for a while, watching the little children ply themselves with so much sugar that at the very sight of a spinning ride they were to throw up on themselves, leaving their clothes covered in a garish undigested mesh that many were tempted to pick at and sample. How could people genuinely call this fun? With an irritated glance she moved through the crowds, spotting those that were familiar every now and again and gifting them with a small smile if they deserved such a prize. Already every corner was full of screaming and giggling masses and many students were dotted through the crowd, uncaring for the school they missed.
Near the towering big wheel stood a man that was familiar to her, but far from a friendly sight and she made no move to greet him as he evidently tried his best to work his 'magic' on a less than enthusiastic girl sat in a carriage. Other than that there were few of interest, but as she neared one of the more popular eyes she spotted a tall dark girl that had been present at many a meeting. With a small nod she regarded the girl pleasantly, Afternoon Dawson, enjoying yourself? there was something about her tone that hinted the answer she was looking for was not an enthusiastic yes.

well, hello hello, who do we have here? Albus Severus Potter? surely you're joking. you're not? well, I'll be damned. but that's right, here was Albus, and with his presence in the Autumn Carnival. running a hand through his hair, he felt somewhat pathetic by the fact that he had chosen to arrive here alone. normally more than joyous to be accompanied by someone, today he was alone. his family, as extended as it was, had their own plans as to how they intended to arrive. James had been uncontactable - bloody jerk that he was, not contacting his own brother - and was probably with a new girl he had scored lately. if Albus had half the talent in getting ladies like his brother, perhaps he wouldn't be so lonely as he was now. and Lily? Lily was a lost cause sometimes, when it came to the sibling love that they supposedly shared. nonetheless, he knew that he was expected here; imagine, a Potter absent from one of the biggest events thrown in Wizarding London? not bloody likely.
so he was there, dressed in his normal attire; to his credit, he chose to forgo the tie today. pulling at his collar by instinct, he cast a glance around, wondering if he knew or recognised anyone here. not many, really. most acquaintances, from the ministry and his time back as a student. all grown up now, and hardly the same before, Albus deduced. shaking his head as he looked around for what he would do first, for there was nothing else to do then to find something to entertain himself. there was this lovely dart shooting game. save the fact that there were no darts, and one simply had to use their wand and aim at targets. wandwork, at best, and Albus felt somewhat intrigued by it. almost bouncing over as he waited his turn for the booth, he fiddled with his wand, as if by instinct. using his wand was second nature to him, and he didn't think he'd do so badly at this type of game. it wouldn't be that hard. would it? nonetheless, not one to take chances, Albus muttered a small prayer to both Merlin and Salazar, before waiting for his turn patiently. there was quite the line. enough time for anyone to come and join him, and try their luck with the boy. face all challenges together and what not, right?

"Genevieve not interested Brookes. not at your service,"
she replied curtly as he introduced himself to her. did all people feel the need to impress their name on her? the truly memorable ones she would remember, but the rest were as good as forgotten once out of view. however, she tolerated it, acting completely indifferent when he said that younger children were bound to scream. "if they did not, I would be compelled to think that there was something wrong with that. children are like that." and in such a case, she didn't mind the least when they did that. noisy, they most certainly were, but she wasn't that cruel to demand their silence via silencing charms. magic was a gift, a responsibility, and not for people to abuse. she had grown up without it; surely she could stand not using it on things she was accustomed to. that was what made sense. rolling her eyes as he started complimenting her again, she figured that indifference would probably be key to asking him to silence himself. she wanted silence on this ride. that, or intellectual conversation. if he couldn't provide that, then she wasn't intending on entertaining him any longer than she had to. the ferris wheel went up and then went down. that was how long he had, and she wasn't intending to entertain him any longer than she would have to. "I could care less about your lack of ability to properly compliment someone." noticing the obvious gap between them in the carriage, she thanked Rowena that the carriage was big enough, and hoped it stayed that way. move closer and she would really have to employ some rather nasty hexes. running a hand through the ends of her hair as she rested her elbow on the handle that locked them in, her chin resting in her palm, she stared blankly, waiting for the ride to start. when they were finally moving, she was glad, and immediately diverted her attention away to see the rest of the fair, wondering if she'd see any familiar faces around. it wouldn't be that bad if she got such a chance. familiar faces were always more welcome than foreign ones.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Argus turned away and rolled his eyes at the young women next to him, he was getting very sick of her annoying behavior and in his mind had every right to kill her but her wouldn't. Argus turned back with a smile noticing the large gap between him the women was staring at. This was going to be a long ride on the ferris wheel, he didn't know what was going on but Genevieve turned her head away looking into the vast park. Argus took her looking away as a chance to scoot a little closer, he looked out behind her head as there was just a small gap in between them now. Maybe he would take the park and her crude attitude as something to start a conversation with, she obviously didn't want to come here. So the obvious question for Argus to ask would be, who made you come here, or why did you come here?
"So Genevieve, why did you come here? You seem like it wasn't really your choice to come here today. I don't mean it in an offensive way, you just don't seem like the very, how should I say this, carnival going type," Argus said trying to start some sort of conversation, it was a risky thing to say, it would either her end up telling him everything, which is what Argus wanted. But, there was also the chance that she would flip out on him, and knowing her that was probably much more likely than the other one. He just sat back viewing the park, it was still the same as it was when he was ten just prettier girls. Then he saw something that truly angered him, he saw Albus Severus Potter, how dare a Potter dare show up when he is in this place. Argus scoffed under his breath as he looked away from the young boy he would kill sooner or later.
Then as he looked high into the sky he saw something he didn't want to see at all, at least not today. He saw his owl, the black owl, the one that gave him his hits, and in its firm clawed grasp the black letter with a name in it. Argus's eyes squinted, and he tried to hide his face as he looked down to the bottom, catching a black letter in a place like this wouldn't be good. He could tell the owl was waiting for him as the ride slowly began to move, they had about two or three times around. One of these times the letter would drop and another time he would try and have to figure a way to spend the rest of the day with this beautiful girl, even if it wasn't a late night date. He could always catch her number, or maybe even the place where she worked, he could pull on his charm, but she seemed to not want anything like that.

natalie sighed and sat back against a bench. she lifted her head to watch the ferris wheel. her eyes followed the circular path it took.
she had spent a few hours at this carnival and already she was rather sick of it. natalie had never really been the happy, go lucky, party sort of girl. she rarely enjoyed events like this but she rather hated this one. she had wasted a few of her fathers coins on some sort of battered food she'd taken one bite of and spat into the nearest trash bin. she had ridden the ferris wheel once, but found the slow repeating spin dull. she had gossiped, briefly, with a few of her class mates. she nodded her head, said no, i'm still not married, and winced behind her smile as her mothers friends approached her and pulled her hair from her face, complimented her, and continued to list their available sons. her fathers friends put her through a similar process. instead she had to nod and say no, i will not marry you.
other than the adults that she saw occasionally in her own home, she saw the adults she saw in the front of her class rooms, a few of her class mates, and alumi students. she saw strangers but not many. she had avoided emerson hunter. what do you say to the old boyfriend you gave your virginity to anyway? and blew a kiss to louis weasley and his ever famous camera. now, she was exhausted.
stupid bloody carnival, she muttered.

For the first time in his life where he had found himself surrounded by the endless bright lights of the Autumn Carnival, he was truly bored. He was too tall for the sky teasing rides now and his tolerance for sugary treats was much lower than it had been when he was a child. If he were to gorge himself on the pink fluff now he would be throwing up in a hedge within an hour, not a very good look for a man who was constantly under the watchful eyes of the public.
Rolling his weight onto the back of his heels and then forward to the front was only the first sign of impatience. Ever since he had returned from Paris he had noticed the change in himself, the shock of the past had left him somewhat subdued and his eyes watched every corner for a flash of familiarity from either side. A number of people passed him that sparked memories in his mind, but few save his old housemates Albus Potter who was whiling away his time playing some game to win a insignificant prize and Meissa Riddle who looked slightly irate as she cut through the crowd, there were none that caught his attention.
Moving though the throng he let out a small sigh, avoiding those smiling fans that sought to grab hold of him and monopolize his attention for hours on end with ridiculous questions on every aspect of his life, his lovers and his job. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate the support he received from those who followed his every sporting move, but at times he needed to remember what it was like to simply be himself, and after a very public working holiday in the center of Paris he was just about ready to lock himself in his room with a nice strong bottle of alcohol and plenty of female attention. Pushing out through the throng his sweeping eyes caught sight of a blonde girl sat atop a bench. Of course he recognized her instantly, but that did not mean he closed the distance between them.
It had been awkward afterwards of course it was, there was no denying the hand alcohol had played in the events of that night only a few days ago and Emerson himself currently had no idea what to do. He wasn't used to seeing those he had counted amongst his conquests again, he never had to face the confusing feelings that jumped in your stomach mingled with guilt at the sight of them, so all he could do was try and avoid her gaze, only one of them needed to be uncomfortable.

she felt her eyes burning and drying the longer she watched the blurring lights of the ferris wheel. she returned her neck to its upright angle and rubbed her eyes with the heels of her hands. before she had even pulled her hands away from her eyes she knew someone was watching her. she pulled her hands from her face and a small yawn escaped her lips, which were already stretching into a smirk.
she crossed one leg over the other and stretched her arm over the length of the back of the bench. hmm, she mused. are you checking me out or avoiding me? she called out loud enough to be heard by emerson over the sound of the crowd, but quiet enough not to grab very much attention. she had avoided him earlier in the evening, but she felt like she had control now. he looked uncomfortable and a little frightened. the sadist in her screamed out in delight. though, she took a rather large eyeful of him. she quirked an eyebrow, waiting for his answer.
